According to the report by the family, Osas since his arrest on 1st November 2024, was taken to Ketu Police Station and since then, has not been seen or heard from.
“On November 1, 2024, my son’s wife called to inform me that my son told her that he was arrested by the police during a raid at Mile 12 and was taken to Ketu Police Station. He told his wife that she should come and bail him before the police took him away.
“My son is a transporter. When they took him to Ketu Police Station, a man he usually helps saw him inside a mini-bus with handcuffs. The man went and asked what the matter was and gave my son a phone to contact his wife immediately. My son told his wife to come and bail him at Ketu Police Station.”
“But before his wife could get to the Ketu Police Station from Ikorodu, the had taken him away,” Francis Azenabor, father of the missing man narrated.
He further added that the wife had to go from station to station to look for him after the officer on dry at Ketu station told her Osas was not there.
According to him, they went went to all stations including Oshodi but was told it was not possible to have brought a person from Ketu station to Oshodi.
In his narration, Francis mentioned that the man whose phone the son had used to contact his wife during his arrest, directed him to the officer who arrested him (Osas) and he met him at a Lottery shop and the said officer started quareling as soon as he saw him being that he and his son look alike.
“Nigerians should help me so the police can bring my son out because I don’t know where to go,” he begged.
However, as at the time of this report, the Lagos state police is yet to make a comment about the issue.
