  • Adepoju backs Osimhen to break Yekini’s all-time record

  • Former Super Eagles midfielder, Mutiu Adepoju, has expressed confidence that Victor Osimhen will surpass the team’s all-time top scorers' record.

Currently, the late Rashidi Yekini holds the record with 37 goals.

Osimhen recently moved into a tie for second place with the legendary Segun Odegbami, who scored 23 goals, after netting a goal in Nigeria's 1-1 draw with Benin Republic last Thursday.

Now 25 years old, Osimhen has set his sights on breaking Yekini’s record.

Adepoju believes Osimhen has the ability to achieve this milestone.

“Osimhen has all the qualities to break Yekini’s record,” Adepoju told SuperSport. “He is a very dedicated player, always giving his best for the national team, so it’s very possible for him to break Yekini’s record.”
