The Federal Government has suspended some senior officers of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) after a leaked audio claimed Bobrisky never spent his jail term in prison
Bobrisky: FG orders probe of Correctional Service
In response, to the leaked audio, the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board has now suspended the following officers:
Michael Anugwa, Deputy Controller of Corrections, Medium Security Custodial Centre, Kirikiri, Lagos
Sikiru Adekunle, Deputy Controller of Corrections, Maximum-Security Custodial Centre, Kirikiri, Lagos
Ogbule Samuel Obinna, ASC II, Medium Security Custodial Centre, Afikpo, Ebonyi, for allegedly escorting a convicted inmate outside the facility.
Iloafonsi Kevin Ikechukwu, Deputy Controller of Corrections, Medium Security Custodial Centre, Kuje-Abuja, for allegedly receiving money on behalf of an inmate.
These suspensions allow for further investigation, with results to be made public upon conclusion.
The EFCC and NCoS are also investigating the allegations.
