Gunmen believed to be bandits have attacked and killed Chief of Chanchanji, HRH Alhaji Tanimu Kunbiya, and his son, Yusuf Tanimu.
The tragic incident occurred Friday evening as they returned from a funeral in Takum.
A press release from Emmanuel Bello, the governor’s special adviser on media and digital communication, conveyed Governor Agbu Kefas’s deep sadness upon receiving the news. The governor condemned the brutal killing of the respected monarch.
Governor Kefas has swiftly ordered security agencies to investigate the attack and pursue the perpetrators. He emphasized the urgency of bringing all involved to justice promptly. He reassured Takum residents, urging calm while promising vigorous efforts to apprehend the criminals.
This marks the third such incident this year, following the killings of the chiefs of Sansani and Usmanu. Governor Kefas expressed condolences to the communities affected and stressed the importance of maintaining peace and unity. He pledged continued efforts to enhance security across the state, aiming to eliminate lawlessness and banditry.
