This interview is lightly edited for clarity.

Q: You’ve been grinding for a while and finally, your work is coming to light. Do you feel like it’s the right time?

Absolutely. I think when you dedicate yourself to something long enough, the results begin to show at the perfect time, you can’t force greatness. This is something I love and enjoy. I remember playing my first few gigs for tiny crowds, where half the people weren’t even paying attention, but I still gave my best. Now, seeing the dance floors packed and people reacting to my mixes makes every hour spent past my bedtime honing my craft worth all the effort.

Does the new attention feel uncomfortable for you?

It’s not uncomfortable but you sure need to adjust to it. I’m grateful for it, I won’t lie; it means I’m doing something right. But sometimes it’s surreal. I’ve always been more focused on the quality of the work than the spotlight, so when people come up to me after a show or recognize me in public, it’s a bit new to manage. That said, it’s all love. I think I’m learning to embrace it.

When did you decide to get into the entertainment scene, especially DJing?

I’ve always been around music. There is music diversity in my family. Growing up, there was always something playing that I had never heard —old records, gospel, Afrobeats. I didn’t know DJing would be my path until a few years ago when a friend let me try mixing on their controller. I remember staying up all night teaching myself transitions and blends. It felt natural, like something I should have been doing. It just started building from there.

How has the journey been so far? It seems like it gets overwhelming sometimes.

The journey has been humbling, that’s for sure. Sometimes it seems to be happening all at once — shows, travel, making new mixes — but I always remind myself why I started. I try to take a step back when it starts to get much, to breathe and recharge. I’m still learning how to balance all of it, but I’m so grateful about everything. This is what I’ve been waiting for.

What’s your favorite thing about playing at events?

Energy is everything. Nothing beats seeing a crowd completely lose themselves in the songs, in the transitions…. It’s as if time stops for a moment, and everyone is united by sound. I love watching people react when I drop a song they weren’t expecting—a nostalgic hit or a blend of two popular

records. DJing really is storytelling, and events give me the chance to create a narrative that connects everyone in the room.

Would you make music of your own, or even host events of your own?

Definitely. I think producing music is the natural next step for me. I have ideas brewing and sounds I want to experiment with, so I’m taking my time to get it right. As for hosting events, I’d love to curate something unique—a series of nights that feel immersive, like an experience rather than just another party. I want people to walk away with memories they’ll talk about for years.

2024 has been a good year for you with a series of achievements and shows booked. What does 2025 hold for you?

2024 has been packed with blessings and lessons, and I’m grateful for everything that’s come my way, highs and lowsZ For 2025, I want to take things up a notch — bigger venues, collaborations, and maybe even a debut project. We’ll see. The focus is consistent growth.

What’s your creative process like? How long does it take you to create mixes?

It varies. Sometimes I’ll sit down and a mix will flow naturally in one session. Other times, I spend hours piecing it together, testing out transitions, and finding the right balance between old and new sounds. I listen to a lot of music—across genres—and I let that inspire me. My process is really about feeling. I want every mix to take listeners somewhere, like a journey they didn’t expect but enjoyed every step of.
