The governor of Ogun State , Ibikunle Amosun, has lost two of his security aides to the cold hands of death in quick succession.
The two security aides who are the Second -In – Command in the Governor’s convoy, Busoye Olayinka, popularly called “Robot,” and Wale Aderemi of the Department of State Security Service (DSS) died four days apart.
While Olayinka died in a ghastly motor accident on Thursday night, Aderemi died at the hospital after a brief illness.
The Nation newspaper reports that Olayinka, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), was involved in the accident along Papalanto stretch of the old Lagos/Abeokuta expressway around 9:00 p.m.
He was traveling with his younger brother when the accident occurred.
The said brother also died in the accident.
The duo were driving to Olayinka’s home after the day’s work but met their unfortunate death.
His ash-coloured Nissan Premera marked , Lagos, PH 406 KJA collided with a truck with registration number, Kwara, LEM 77 XA along the expressway.
The truck was reversing from the compound of a steel company along the highway when the two vehicles collided.
The State Commander of Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Clement Oladele, who confirmed the accident to journalists, said the two victims were taken to the General Hospital in Ifo.
Aderemi died at a private hospital in Panseke area of Abeokuta.
The Ekiti State -born DSS official was discharged from the same hospital few days before his death.
He was treated for typhoid at the hospital.
He reportedly fell in the toilet of his apartment and was rushed back to the hospital where he died.
His corpse was taken to his home town in Ekiti on Thursday, The Nation newspaper reports.
