An unidentified suspected car battery thief was nearly lynched yesterday by an angry mob at at Akai Effa, Calabar, Cross River State. Coming after another was set ablaze on Sunday at Edim Otop in Calabar.
According to Online reports, the car battery thief, was said to have been chased on Monday but escaped, however his luck ran out after he was caught the next day, Tuesday, from a location not so far from where he had been chased on Monday.
The irate mob severely dealt with him, poured fuel on him and dragged a tyre from a nearby compound to burn him alive. He was, however, lucky that security operatives came before being set ablaze. He was eventually taken away
