Seventh Day Adventist Church pastor has met a cruel end after he tried
to escape from armed robbers who stopped him along the road.
The head pastor of Effiduase Seventh Day Adventist died in the tragic accident
The head pastor of Effiduase Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church and
Assistant Headmaster Administration of Okomfo Anokye Senior High School
in the Ashanti Region of Ghana was on Saturday afternoon shot dead by
armed robbers, MyNewsGH.
The 53-year-old Pastor James Agyei who is also a national executive
of the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) was killed
between Abuaboja and Abubenso communities in the Afigya Kwabre district
on his way for pastoral duties.
According to residents, he reportedly bumped into the robbers who
flagged him to stop but realizing their intent, he tried speeding off
but they shot him at close range killing him on the spot
They made away with two of his mobile phones and some unspecified
cash on realizing that other travelers were approaching the scene of the
incident.
Pastor James Agyei was driving in a white Benz with registration
number of WR 8808 A. The body has since been deposited at Offinso St
Patrick Hospital while police have launched a manhunt for the robbers.
