While speaking in an exclusive interview with Sky Sports, Chelsea
FC legend, Didier Drogba revealed that Romelu Lukaku has told him about
his transfer plans this summer and backed the Everton striker to be a
success if he returns to Chelsea.
Lukaku is reportedly one of Chelsea’s top targets ahead of the
summer transfer window, with the Premier League leaders ready to spend
£70 million on the 23-year-old after allowing him to join Everton for
£28m in 2014.
Drogba believes the Belgian would need little time to adapt at
Stamford Bridge and feels the striker still wants to prove a point at
his former club.
When asked if he knows what Lukaku is plans are this summer, Drogba replied; "I know", but refused to reveal what the striker’s intentions are.
"If he comes to Chelsea it will be great for the club," Drogba said. "He knows the house already and I think he wants to prove he can be successful here, he didn’t get the chance to do it.
"Chelsea is his club since he was young, so why not? He wants to be the best. He’s really working hard to become the best.
"I am always challenging him. When he scores one goal, I expect him to score two. We have a very good relationship.
"I think he’s my little brother. He’s a really good guy. He’s a very good player, but also a great man."
