NUJ To Honour Udom, Rochas , Makarfi, Aniekan Uko

 

The Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel, Governor of Imo State, Dr Rochas Okorocha, former Governor of Kaduna State and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Caretaker Committee Chairman, Ahmed Makarfi, Sen Godswill Akpabio, the immediate past Speaker of The Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Aniekan Uko are among eminent personalities billed to be honoured by the Nigeria Union of Journalists NUJ, Akwa Ibom State Council at the 2016 NUJ Press Week slated to start Monday 5th to 11th December 2016.

The event will also witness Journalists honoured in various categories of Awards to include: Editor of the Year, Reporter of the year (Print and Electronic),Crime/Investigative Reporter of the year, Feature Writer of the Year, Sports Writer of the Year, Legislative Reporter of the Year, Online Reporter of the Year, Health/Population Reporter of the Year.

Newspaper of the Year
Broadcast Station of the Year (Radio)
Broadcast Station of the Year (TV)
Independent Producer of the Year
Information Officer of the Year

The event which has the theme: Akwa Ibom Media and the challenge of Development Journalism has schedule of activities to include: Day One/Two (5th- 6th December, 2016)- Seminar/ Lectures and a session with Exxon Mobil Nig. Unlimited at NUJ Press Centre, Information Drive, Uyo. Time 8:30am.

Day Three (7th December, 2016)- Inspection of Government Projects across the State. Time 10am.
Day Four (8th December, 2016)- Visit to orphanages and Novelty Football match between Female Journalists and Female Lawyers at Technical College, Ewet Offot. Time 3:30pm.
Day Five (9th December, 2016) Dinner/ Award Night at Emerald Event Centre, Edet Akpan Avenue, Uyo. Time 6pm.

Day Six (10th December, 2016)- Road Walk along major streets in Uyo. Time 6am.
Day Seven (11th December, 2016)- Thanksgiving Service at The Apostolic Church, Ewet Offot District, Uyo. Time 9am.

The Press Week Chairman urges all Journalists in the State to partake meaningfully in the week with the assurance that what has been put in place promises to make this year's edition the best so far held.
