Speaking shortly after his side beat Denmark 2-0 to advance to the
semifinals of the Olympics, Samson Siasia said that poor preparation
hampers the performance of African sides on the world stage. He said
that if the right preparations are made, an African country can go as
far winning the world cup.
He said:
“I think that’s an issue we have, not just in Nigeria. I think it’s the case with most Africa countries. If African counties were better prepared, they might have a shot at the World Cup. “But the problems are that it’s always the same thing. It’s not good trying to compete with having problems. “Hopefully, we might find a way to change the way we prepare. Africa won’t win the World Cup, having these problems."
