Twitter has agreed to a deal with Sky Sports to start broadcasting live Barclays English Premier League football clips over its platform. This will allow fans in UK & Ireland to watch a selection of goals and crucial moments in the game via the @SkyFootball Twitter account in “real- time”.
Post-Match analysis will also be available for viewers. The Digital Director of Sky Sports and Sky News said that by expanding their partnership with the social network, they could reach a wider audience.
Interestingly the deal has been agreed 2 years after the Premier League warned fans not to post their own videos of goals, saying that it is a breach of copyright.
