The Benue State government has sacked the local government caretaker chairmen in the 23 local government areas of the state.
The decision to relieve the caretaker Chairmen of their appointment was taken on Wednesday, at the end of the weekly State Executive Council, SEC, meeting presided over by Governor Samuel Ortom in Makurdi.
Addressing reporters, the Commissioner for Information, Mr. Odey Ageh, said the SEC also directed the outgoing chairmen to hand over to their respective Directors General Service and Administration, DGSA.
Meanwhile, Local government elections earlier scheduled for 3rd September 2016 has been postponed indefinitely due to lack of funds.
