Late Alhaji Dr. Abdullahi Ado Bayero was the Emir of Kano from October 22, 1963 till his death at the age of 84 on June 6, 2015 after a long illness. He was succeeded by his brother's grandson, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, the former CBN Governor.
