The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC has started
despatching non-sensitive materials for this weekend’s election showdown
to the local government areas, the state Resident Electoral
Commissioner, Mr Aniedi Ikoiwak said yesterday.
The sensitive materials including ballot papers and result sheets he said would start arriving the state from today.
He said training of ad-hoc staff for the elections was still ongoing in the local government areas.
“We are working, receiving materials and sending especially non sensitive to the local government areas.
“We are hoping that it will be a peaceful election. We are still training some of the adhoc staff in the local government areas. You know we have a timeline. We will be through with training collation officers soon as well”, he said.
