  • Governor Ayo Fayose Gives Bank 48 Hours Ultimatum To Pay Teachers Their Allowance. Photos
  • Ekiti State Governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose has given banks involved in the payment of core and rural allowance to teachers forty eight hours ultimatum to pay about seven hundred Ekiti teachers who have not been paid saying Ekiti workers should not be made to suffer for the bank's administrative failure.

The governor gave the order while addressing the affected teachers who converged at Christ School Ado Ekiti Tuesday afternoon. Mr Fayose had five weeks ago approved the payment of core subjects and rural allowance to about 3000 teachers who are entitled to it but over 700 are yet to be paid.
Pained by the stress the teachers had to pass through for no fault of theirs, the governor at the meeting directed one of the affected banks(name withheld) to pay immediately the sum of #1.5m as transport fee to the over 700 teachers present.
Governor Fayose who promised to always make welfare of the civil servants his priority charged them to be committed to their duties as they continue to show understanding regarding the economic realities in the country.
