  • "Ministers Should Read The Budget Well Before Appearing Before The Senate"- Sen Shehu Sani Says
  • Following the controversies and discrepancies which have trailed the 2016 national budget, senator Sheu Sani has shared his thoughts on his Facebook page with the message below;

    Ministers appearing before senate committees to disown budget figures from their ministries doesn't make much sense.They are suppose to dedicate their time to go through every page and lines of the documents no matter the volume. The embarrassments of 'typographical errors" and other suspicious errors by "authors of the budget"can best be prevented by meticulous reading of the documents before it's presentation.
    Meanwhile, the persistence of the confusion that began when the 2016 budget document was declared "missing" at the National Assembly four weeks ago, doubts still remain over the figures allocated to subheads in various ministries, departments and agencies.

    Now, members of the National Assembly have begun questioning the integrity of the document before them and have announced the indefinite suspension of the deadline they had earlier fixed for passing the budget.
