Niger Delta Youth Association (NDYA) World-wide boiled out in anger and issued an undillutedly caution to president Muhammadu Buhari and the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) to stop humilating, harrasing and hugger–mugger
moves to trample on the fundamental human rights of former Niger Delta Freedom Fighter, Hight Chief Ekpemupolo Oweizide Government alias Tompolo, Dr. Patrick Ziakede Akpoboloukemi, former director general Nimasa and other Niger Delta prominent leaders.
In a statement issued yesterday in America after a conference meeting and signed by the President, Comr. Victor James, Chairman NDYA Delta State Chapter, Amb. Arerebo Salaco Yerinmene Peter's Jr, Chariman Akwa Ibom Chapter, Comr. Marshal Ime, Chairman Rivers State, Comr. Soboma Amachree and the spokesman, Gabriel Patterson Unyeowaji, the group said: “President buhari should not mistake our quietness, law abiding and peacefulness as cowardice. We have only chosen and maintain to be civil and mature as law abiding and peace loving people. We are made up of galant, wide awake, distinguished and patriotic career men and women, with all necessary human skills, tactics, preparedness and capacity" the NDYA said without missing words.
“We have been watching with critical interest the serial threats, harassment and humilation by President Buhari and his elites on the lives of our law abiding prominent leaders. He use the EFCC and the DSS to witch hunt, manhadled, tortured a lawing abiding and peaceful human kind, Dr. Patrick Ziakede Akpoboloukemi and declared tompolo wanted. We are also perceiving how he want to innocently accused and prosecute our Niger Delta leaders.
“Witch hunting of our leaders is fight against us. We shall not take it from him any more. He is disrupting the sleeping lions. No one has the monopoly of violence.”
We are of the opinion that unnecessary pressures should not be mounted on security agencies against our prominent leaders over a case that had been variously ruled on by courts in Nigeria exonerating our leaders of the alleged offences. Buhari consistent disobeying the democratic rule of law and violating the human right will not help Nigerias an independent state.
"We urged the Nigeria Human Right Commision to look at the merit of the issues and also appeal to notable human rights groups in the country to stand up and conduct objective inquiry into the matter so that the fundamental human right to liberty and association of the prominent Niger Delta leaders is not trampled upon at the behest of political interest,” The group said
The group which aim is to promote peace and liberty across niger delta region.
