According to reports, governor Udom Emmanuel splashed N2m each and a house on each on all Akwa United players who won the Federation Cup. The coach also reportedly got N3m for the historic feat. The victory was the first for any football club in the former Cross River State in the seventy years old history of the oldest and most glamorous soccer tournament in the country.
