In concerted effort towards a successful fight against terrorism, the
French Government has promised to cooperate with the Federal Government
to further strengthen the bilateral discussions on security relations
existing between the two Nations.
The French Director of Military Intelligence, Lieutenant General Christophe Gomart gave this assurance when he paid a courtesy visit on the Chief of Defence Staff, General Gabriel Olonisakin at the Defence Headquarters, Abuja.
Lt. Gen. Gomart while explaining the purpose of the visit said it would enable the two Nations share intelligence and knowledge about terrorist and also reinforce the defence cooperation between the two nations Intelligence Agencies.
In his response, the Defence Chief of Policy and Plans, Air Vice Marshal Anthony Omeiza who represented the CDS noted that the visit would not only cement the existing relationship between the two nations, but would also encourage intelligence discussion and information sharing on ways to tackle security challenges. He solicited the French Government's support in the current fight against insurgency.
