A 15-year-old boy who tested positive for Ebola last week in Liberia has
died, becoming the first victim since the country was declared free of
the virus in September, according to reports from health officials. The
boy died on Monday afternoon at a treatment centre near the capital,
Monrovia, where his father and brother, the only two other confirmed
Ebola cases in the country, are also being treated.
Liberia has seen more than 10,000 Ebola cases and more than 4,000 deaths. Sierra Leone was officially declared free of Ebola by the World Health Organization (WHO) earlier this month.
