  • Born-again Gets Jail Term After Walking Into A Police Station To Confess A Crime He Committed 10 Yrs Ago
  • He changed his ways and in line of his faith -he confessed to the authorities of what he had done years back without being punished. A born-again Christian who walked into a police station to confess an attempted murder exactly a decade earlier has been jailed for 12 years.

    Read via Daily Mail;
    Merice Brown, 31, of Leicester, shot a 19-year-old man four times in a barber’s shop in Kennington, south London, when he was 20, before riding off on his bicycle in March 2005. But no suspects were identified and the case remained unsolved until four months ago when Brown walked into a police station 100 miles away and confessed to the crime.

    Now, ten years later, he has been jailed at Inner London Crown Court after pleading guilty to attempted murder and two firearms offences. Brown was riding his bike in Kennington on March 3, 2005 when he saw a 19-year-old man having a haircut at Exotic Barbers.
    The two men started staring at each other, before Brown entered the shop and sat next to him. An exchange of words followed, and he left but returned with a gun just minutes later.

    Following another confrontation the victim was shot before Brown left on his bike. He was taken to hospital and treated for one gunshot wound to his jaw and three more to his forehead.

    But he survived and police started investigating, but they never identified any suspects and the case was unsolved - until Brown walked into Braunstone police station in Leicester on March 2 this year.
