Kanye West has returned back to business five days after he stopped a show abruptly upon hearing that his wife, Kim Kardashian, was robbed at gunpoint in Paris.
The 39-year-old rapper was on stage today in Chicago but did not directly address the terrifying incident. According to Chicago Tribune, Kanye only stopped briefly in his set to give a shoutout to his hometown, saying:
It was later revealed that West’s “family emergency” was Kardashian’s headline-making ordeal, during which five men dressed as police entered her luxury apartment building in Paris, held her at gunpoint and tied and gagged her as they stole jewelry worth more than $10 million.
According to a Paris-based source, one of the suspects asked the concierge, “Where is the wife of the rapper?” before confronting the reality star, 35, in her residence at the Hôtel de Pourtalès.
In the days that followed, Us Weekly reports new details slowly emerged from the case, including the fact that Kim felt suspicious about the concierge’s calm demeanor amid the chaos. (The suspects reportedly had a gun pointed at his head when he unlocked the door to Kardashian’s apartment.)

“Dear Kim: When you feel the cold steel of a gun at your neck, it is the moment when remaining calm can mean the difference of life or death, both our lives,” the 40-year-old hotel employee wrote in French celebrity magazine Closer, according to TMZ. “I hope you are feeling better.”
